The course will describe on classic orogenic gold terranes and orogenic gold systems in the Nordics. The course will include a hand sample work shop with altered and mineralised samples from a number of different terranes.

The presenters have many decades of experience investigating orogenic gold deposits worldwide including in Australia, Canada, Finland, Greenland, India, New Zealand, South Africa, Sweden and Zimbabwe. Metamorphic petrochronology workshop

Do you work with metamorphic rocks of any kind and want to understand the relationships between the geochronological and textural evolution of your samples? This workshop can help! We will cover metamorphic modelling, diffusional modelling, geochronology and XMapTools. The objective behind the course is to understand the geological significance of ages and how these tools can be applied to understanding not only the metamorphism but also the whole history of samples from initial formation to now. With such broad topics and limited time we ask that all workshop attendees to indicate which aspects of the course they are most interested in so that we can ensure that these topics are covered. The course will be run by a group of experts so there will also be opportunities for you to discuss you samples/problems with these experts during the workshop.
